John F. Bagby

John F. Bagby, 77, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born March 17, 1923, in Douthat, Okla. A resident for seven years, he was a retired sales representative in the sheet metal industry and a World War II Air Force veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Evelyn; two daughters, Sandra Stefek of St. Peters, Mo., and Patricia Gensner of House Springs, Mo.; one sister, Sue Andrews of Mustang, Okla.; and five grandchildren.

Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Zerline E. Dartez

Zerline E. Dartez, 78, of Las Vegas died June 30 in a local health care center. She was born Feb. 25, 1922, in Charleston, S.C. A resident for one year, she was a retired hospital registered nurse.

She is survived by one daughter, Zerlina D. Stevens of Las Vegas; and one grandchild.

Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., handled private arrangements.

Walter Evich

Walter Evich, 80, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born April 16, 1920, in Cedar Wooley, Wash. A resident for 16 years, he was a retired steel worker.

He is survived by his wife, Lucille; two daughters, Marilyn Evich and Marianne Evich, both of Torrance, Calif.; and two sisters, Donnie Helmhold and Minya Lamb, both of Great Falls, Mont.

Graveside services were scheduled at noon today in Palm Valley View Memorial Park. Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., handled arrangements.

Eleanor E. Grimes

Eleanor E. Grimes, 81, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local care center. She was born Nov. 21, 1918, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A resident for four years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one son, Christopher Grimes of Las Vegas; and one grandchild.

Oscar Groebel

Oscar Groebel, 91, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local care center. He was born April 18, 1909, in Germany. A resident for 1 1/2 years, he was a photographer, an Army veteran and a member of the Chess Federation.

He is survived by his wife, Lillian; one son, Richard Groebel; and one sister, Gusti Engleberg.

Irene T. MacDonald

Irene T. MacDonald, 70, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born Nov. 13, 1929, in Massachusetts. A resident for two years, she was a member of American Association of Retired Persons and spent six years as a foster grandparent.

She is survived by two daughters, Diane G. Carson of Las Vegas and Holly H. Tate of Okinawa, Japan.

Anna M. Nasser

Anna M. Nasser, 75, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born Nov. 19, 1924, in West Terre Haute, Ind. A resident for 16 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by four daughters, Esther Sharkey, Paula Nasser and Peggy Rucker, all of Las Vegas, and Hermena Nasser of Terre Haute, Ind.; three sons, George Nasser of Indianapolis, Abe Nasser of Terre Haute and Art Nasser of Las Vegas; three brothers, Raymond Smith and William Smith, both of West Terre Haute, and Jerry Sims of South Carolina; two sisters, Hermena Smith and Rose Bauermeister, both of California; 21 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Visitation was to continue until 3:30 p.m. today in Davis Funeral Home, 2127 W. Charleston Blvd., with services scheduled at 4 p.m. in Our Lady of Las Vegas Catholic Church, 3050 Alta Drive. Burial will be in Terre Haute. American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane, is handling arrangements.

Johanness Norgard

Johanness Norgard, 79, of Las Vegas died June 6 in a local hospital. Born Oct. 6, 1920, he was retired and was a veteran.

Graham McMillan Schorb

Graham McMillan Schorb, 63, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Oct. 21, 1930, in North Carolina. A resident for more than 10 years, he was a police officer and a Korean War veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Karen M. Adamson Schorb.

No local services are scheduled. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Ruth Mary Sheriff

Ruth Mary Sheriff, 84, of Las Vegas died Thursday in San Francisco. She was born March 1, 1916, in Nebraska. A resident for 49 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Glenn J.

A memorial service will be 7 p.m. Thursday in Davis Funeral Home, 2127 W. Charleston Blvd. A private burial will follow.

Virginia L. Snyder

Virginia L. Snyder, 78, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local care center. She was born Feb. 9, 1922, in Memphis, Tenn. A resident for 30 years, she was a retired accountant.

She is survived by two daughters, Patricia Lucero and Helen Snyder, one son, William Conn, and one brother, Fred Bailey, all of Las Vegas; one sister, Martha Ross of Mississippi; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Graveside services will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

The family suggests donations to the Alzheimer's Disease Association, 3441 W. Sahara Ave., Suite A-8, Las Vegas, NV 89101.

Vernon Southern

Vernon Southern, 78, of Pahrump died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born April 5, 1922, in Arkansas. A resident for 25 years, he was a locksmith at the Nevada Test Site for seven years, a Navy veteran, a member of the Masons, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Shriners and was one of the two state recipients of the Masons' Blue and White Apron.

He is survived by one son, William Southern of Washington state; one daughter, Patrica Williams of Henderson; one brother, Haskil Southern of Texas; three sisters, Rachel Black and Revenna Keller, both of California, and Ester Ford of Idaho; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to an 11 a.m. Masonic service Friday in Pahrump Family Mortuary, 2240 E. Calvada Blvd. VFW will lead the graveside service at Chief Tecopa Cemetery with the Navy Honor Guard.

Claud Sparkman

Claud Sparkman, 79, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born April 27, 1921, in Vicksburg, Miss. A resident for 50 years, he was a hotel porter and a World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by his companion, Annette Lathan of North Las Vegas; and one sister, Millie Sparkman of Vicksburg, Miss.

Visitation is scheduled 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Thursday in American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Daniel Harvey Spirlock Sr.

Daniel Harvey Spirlock Sr., 51, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born Jan. 21, 1949, in California. A resident for one year, he was a self-employed floor installer and an Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Gloria; five sons, Daniel Spirlock Jr. of Washington state, Michael Spirlock, Billy Trunnell and Matt Trunnell, all of Apple Valley, Calif., and Timothy Spirlock of Hacienda Heights, Calif.; one daughter, Tami Breedlove of Apple Valley; his father, Harvey of Redding, Calif.; his mother, Louise Beloit of Las Vegas; two sisters, Barbara Brown of Washington state and Jacqueline Zumalt of Idaho; and two grandchildren.

Mildred Mae Ullrich

Mildred Mae Ullrich, 82, of Battle Ground, Wash., died July 3 in Battle Ground. She was born July 13, 1917, in Downer, Minn. A former Henderson resident from 1959 to 1979, she was a retired dental assistant.

She is survived by three daughters, Gwen Bennett of Las Vegas, Becky Barker of Kingman, Ariz., and Jeanne Meisner of Battle Ground; two sons, Vern Ullrich of Henderson and Randy Ullrich of Battle Ground; one stepson, Steve Mayhew of North Carolina; three sisters, Liz Bondurant and Betty Kramer, both of Henderson, and Dorothy Lien of Minnesota; three brothers, Lamont Henry Jr., Ned Henry and David Henry, all of Minnesota; 10 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park, Henderson.

Dominic Woodard

Dominic Woodard, 5, of North Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. He was born Oct. 29, 1994, in Las Vegas. He was an elementary school student.

He is survived by his parents, Bonnie Lou and Fred E. Woodard, one sister, Denise Woodard, and two brothers, J. Woodard and Johnston Woodard, all of North Las Vegas; his grandmother, Katherine Coss of San Antonio, Fla.; and his grandfather, John Coss of Andes, N.Y.

A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Sunday in the Mountain View Assembly of God, 3901 E. Bonanza Road. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.
