Vegas apparel convention owner sold

NEW YORK -- Donaldson Lufkin & Jenrette Inc.'s merchant bank agreed to buy Advanstar Inc. for more than $900 million from San Francisco buyout firm Hellman & Friedman LLC.
Advanstar is a trade-show and publishing company. Its MAGIC apparel show in Las Vegas draws 90,000 people twice a year.
