Marjorie M. Arnold

Marjorie M. Arnold, 62, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local care center. She was born Nov. 3, 1937, in Medhow, Wash. A resident for two years, she was a retired hairdresser.

She is survived by two daughters, S. Renee Hoban and Ruth Adams, both of Las Vegas; one son, Jimmy Arnold of Warden Wash.; her mother and stepfather, Lorraine Graver-Davidson and Forest Davidson, both of Issaquah, Wash.; two sisters, Pauline James and Alice Donnet, both of Seattle; two brothers, Charles Graver of Ellensburg, Wash., and Walter Graver of Spokane, Wash.; and five grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. graveside services Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. is handling arrangements.

Flor Maria Becerra

Flor Maria Becerra, 93, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local care center. She was born April 26, 1907, in Colombia. A resident for five years, she was a railroad secretary.

She is survived by one daughter, Maria Kahn of Las Vegas; one brother, Mauricio Escobar of Venezuela; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Sylvia Brown

Sylvia Brown, 80, of Henderson died Tuesday in Henderson. She was born Jan. 4, 1920, in Kansas. A resident for two years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one daughter, Sylvia Wolfe of Henderson.

Esther Vanis Cerny

Esther Vanis Cerny, 93, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. She was born April, 2, 1907, in Chicago. A resident for 10 years, she was a member of the Eastern Star Berwyn Chapter.

She is survived by three daughters, Audrey Klimek of Illinois, Adrianne Sullivan of Las Vegas and Arlene DeLorenzo of Henderson; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

A memorial service is scheduled 11 a.m. Saturday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave.

C.L. 'Doc' Coleman

C.L. "Doc" Coleman, 89, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born April 24, 1911 in Guysville, Ohio. A resident for 52 years, he was a retired state of Nevada supervisor, a former Henderson service station owner, a member of the Elks and Lions Club.

He is survived by his wife, Mabel; two sons, Larry Coleman of Alpharetta, Ga., and Keith Coleman of Chandler, Ariz.; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.

John Edward Daniels

John Edward Daniels, 64, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. A resident for 46 years, he was born Jan. 9, 1936, in Louisiana.

He is survived by his wife, Magdlene Murray, four sons, Harriell Daniels, Reggett Daniels, Wallace Daniels and Brian Daniels, and three daughters, Lishay Daniels, Pamela Randolph and Sandra Daniels, all of Las Vegas; four brothers, Lawrence Daniels and Willie Daniels, both of Las Vegas, Clarence Coley of South Carolina and Vernon Coley of Milwaukee; four sisters, Mildred Clemon, Beatrice Payne and Mary Daniels, all of Texas, and Mary Ann Knox of Las Vegas; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 11 a.m. Friday in American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Pentecostal Temple Church of God in Christ, 1117 N. F St. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Curtis Dean DeMoss and Bronson Ash DeMoss

Curtis Dean DeMoss, 41, and Bronson Ash DeMoss, 2, both of Las Vegas, died Monday in an accident at Lake Mead. Curtis was born Feb. 9, 1959, in New Foundland, Calif. A chef at the Orleans hotel-casino and an Air Force veteran, Curtis was a resident of Las Vegas for four years. Bronson was born Dec. 22, 1997, in Las Vegas.

They are survived by Curtis' wife and Bronson's mother, Susan DeMoss, and Curtis' son and Bronson's brother, Bradley D. DeMoss, both of Las Vegas. Curtis is also survived by his mother, Bernice West, one brother, Clint DeMoss, and one sister, Terri Lyons, all of Virginia Beach, Va.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to 1 p.m. services Friday in the LDS chapel, 4545 New Forest Drive. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

Maxie Erving

Maxie Erving, 76, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born June 30, 1924, in Minden, La. A resident for six months, he was a World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Arrie Lee Blanch; three daughters, Rosetta Thomas and Erma Lee Rue, both of Las Vegas, and Flossie James of Fresno, Calif.; one son, Fred Hogan of Las Vegas; 21 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren.

Services will be 3 p.m. Saturday in American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane. Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

Judith Anne Gardner

Judith Anne Gardner, 65, of Henderson died Sunday in Henderson. She was born Nov. 5, 1934, in Marquette, Mich. A resident for 14 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by two sons, David Gardner and Stuart Gardner, both of New Jersey; four daughters, Vicki Ellis, Jill Gardner, Becky Guy and Kathy Bostick, all of Nevada; her mother, Anna Gasper of Wisconsin; three brothers, Howie Gingraf of Colorado, Gerald Gingraf of Michigan and Tim Gasper of Wisconsin; three sisters, Karen Bowerman of Florida, Barbara Dembowski of Illinois and Sherry Alicea of Wisconsin; 14 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Eric Daniel Hamilton died Saturday, his date of birth, in Las Vegas.

He is survived by his father, Chester Hamilton, his mother, Lynne Vest, one brother, Brandon Hamilton, one sister, Mary Hamilton, and his grandparents, Eva Rossiger, Hazel Rossiger and Wayne Rossiger, all of Las Vegas.

Willie Harding

Willie Harding, 58, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. A resident for 49 years, he was born June 12, 1942, in Newellton, La.

He is survived two daughters, Donette Harding of Las Vegas and Maurice Harding of Phoenix; three brothers, George Osley Jr., Earl Harding and James Lewis, and two sisters, Catherine Williams and Carolyn Rainey, all of Las Vegas.

James William Hoon Jr

James William Hoon Jr., 40, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 2, 1959, in Canton, Ohio. A resident for one year, he was a machinist in the racing industry.

He is survived by one son, Christopher Hoon, and one daughter, Amanda Hoon, both of Baltimore; his father, James W. Hoon and stepmother, Susan Hoon, and three sisters, Luana Vautier, Terri Gabe and Cheryl Nuernberg, all of Las Vegas.

A memorial service is scheduled 2 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

Henry S. Hunter

Henry S. Hunter, 63, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. An aerospace mechanic for 14 years, he was born Dec. 28, 1936, in Dallas.

He is survived by his wife, Aldera; three daughters, Sabrina Haggerty of Dallas, Aldera Steger of Fontana, Calif., and Shelton Hunter of Killeen, Texas; four sons, Tony Hunter, Rodney Hunter and Henry S. Hunter Jr., all of Las Vegas, and Andre Hunter of Dallas; two sisters, Oriel Pea of Oakland, Calif., and Faye Shaw of Los Angeles; two brothers, Herman Hunter of Los Angeles and Harvey Hunter of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled 3-7 p.m. Friday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Bunkers Chapel. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Laura Josephine Inness

Laura Josephine Inness, 85, of Las Vegas died Aug. 10 in a local hospital. She was born Oct. 27, 1914, in Luxora, Ark. A resident for 58 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one daughter, Mary Jo Tandy of Alexandria, Va.; five sons, Walter Edwin Inness, Richard E. Inness and Theodore E. Inness, all of Las Vegas, Robert J. Inness of Brea, Calif., and George H. Inness of Portland, Ore.; two sisters, Thelma Watkins of Luxora and Lorene Blair of Morrilton, Ark.; three brothers, Floyd Gilless of Louisiana, Alvin Eugene Gilless of Brighton, Tenn., and Lewis Gilless of California; 16 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Geraldine Jones

Geraldine Jones, 66, of North Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. She was born Oct. 23, 1933, in Newellton, La. A resident for 45 years, she was a Sunrise Hospital supervisor for 30 years.

She is survived by four sons, Willie Jones Jr., Terry L. Jones and Michael A. Jones, all of Las Vegas, and Charles E. Jones of Newellton; four daughters, MaryAnn Purycar, Brenda Cook, Patricia Jones and Shirley Rideout, two adopted daughters, Shirley Bowman and Sherry Collins, and two adopted sons, Donald Stokes and Ronald Stokes, all of Las Vegas; her mother, Pearline Robinson of Newellton; three sisters, Rosie Mae Harvey of Chicago, Slyzell "Lucille" Williams of Las Vegas and Delores Guice of Newellton; one brother, Joe Piazza of Los Angeles; 22 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Doris Marie Lyles

Doris Marie Lyles, 75, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born July 31, 1925, in Detroit. A resident for 16 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Robert; one daughter, Suzanne D.J. Gamby of Las Vegas; and two grandchildren.

Allen T. Mankus

Allen T. Mankus, 49, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born Feb. 6, 1951, in Scranton, Pa. A resident for 38 years, he was a slot technician and a Vietnam War Army veteran.

He is survived by one son, Christopher Mankus of Everett, Wash.; one daughter, Private Maryellen Mankus of Fort Jackson, S.C.; his parents, Thelma and Edward Jones, and one sister, Ellen Neske, all of Las Vegas; and one granddaughter.

Fernando Bustillos Perez

Fernando Bustillos Perez, 42, of North Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born June 27, 1958, in Mexico. A resident for 11 years, he worked at a dry cleaning establishment.

He is survived by his wife, Valerie; three daughters, Samantha Perez, Stacey Babcock and Sheena Babcock, and his parents, Crescencio and Felix Perez, all of North Las Vegas; seven sisters, Teresa Cervantes, Margarita Ruiz and Marielena Perez, all of Las Vegas, Esperanza Aguirre, Leticia Perez and Rosa Ma Perez, all of North Las Vegas, and Ortencia Monarrez of Aurora, Ill.; and five brothers, Meliton Perez of Chicago, Antonio Perez and Vicente Perez, both of North Las Vegas, Ubaldo Perez of Aurora and Manuel Perez of Las Vegas.

Robert B. Reynolds Sr.

Robert B. Reynolds Sr., 75, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 1, 1924, in Lansing, Mich. A resident for 38 years, he was a retired supervisor for the U.S. Postal Service and a World War II Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth; one son, Robert B. Reynolds Jr., and two daughters, Gayle Pectol and Roberta Rand, all of Las Vegas; eight brothers and sisters; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 3:30 p.m. Saturday in Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd.

Jerry Sandrock

Jerry Sandrock, 58, of Boulder City died Tuesday in Boulder City. He was born Nov. 16, 1941, in Sharon, Pa. A resident for five years, he was an electrical lineman and an Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn F.; two sons, Jerry Sandrock and Carl Sandrock, both of Youngstown, Ohio; one sister, Phyllis Nevin of Transfer, Pa.; and six grandchildren.

Mary Cynthia Scannell, 83, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. She was born June 12, 1917, in Atlanta, Idaho. A resident for 50 years, she was a hospital nurse.

She is survived by one daughter, Katherine Andreason of Las Vegas; one son, William Scannell of Smithville, N.J.; three sisters, Dolores Skadsen of Vancouver, Wash., Patricia Saboe of Waldport, Ore., and Betty Vinson of Saugus, Calif.; and four grandchildren.

Mass will be celebrated 1 p.m. Friday in St. Viator Catholic Church, 2461 E. Flamingo Road. Graveside services will be 2:30 p.m. Friday in Boulder City Cemetery, 501 Adams Blvd. Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

Virginia Lea Stedman, 65, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born June 5, 1935, in Phoenix. A resident for 19 years, she was a retired chapel hostess at Circus Circus and a member of Rebekah Lodge.

She is survived by three daughters, Barbara Bunker and Harlene Baker, both of Las Vegas, and Careen Henry of Tempe, Ariz.; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 5-8 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 4:30 p.m. Friday in Palm Chapel, Eastern.

Richard Stephen Tuffey, 51, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born July 23, 1949, in California. A resident for 19 years, he was a construction supervisor.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara; one daughter, Shannon Schoeffel; one sister, Susan Tuffey Gonzalez; and one grandchild.

Chloe Inez Van Buren

Chloe Inez Van Buren, 79, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born March 4, 1921, in Las Vegas. A lifelong resident, she was a homemaker, the former owner of Van Buren and Cox Jewelers, a member of the Golden Tappers and the Junior League of Las Vegas.

She is survived by three daughters, Karen McNeel, Marilyn Thornell and Ellen Mirti, all of Las Vegas; one son, Alan Van Buren of Cedar City, Utah; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Services are scheduled noon Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Burial will be in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Christopher Tyler Washington

Christopher Tyler Washington, 6 months, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Feb. 10, 2000, in Las Vegas.

He is survived by his father, Marcus Anthony Jones of Akron, Ohio; his mother, Brandi Washington, and one sister, Alanna Washington, both of Las Vegas; and his grandparents, Diana Washington of Las Vegas, Sandy and Chris Richardson of Akron and Orlando and Judy Jones of Lorrain, Ohio.

Roberta Mae Weaver

Roberta Mae Weaver, 47, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born May 7, 1953, in California. A resident for 22 years, she was a nurse's aide.

She is survived by one son, Adam Kirkman, and two sisters, Eva Scorelle and Ida Martin, all of Las Vegas; and one brother, Charles Weaver Jr. of Kansas.

A memorial service was scheduled at 11 a.m. today in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North.
