Higher fuel costs coupled with labor problems with flight attendants led to a $218 million net loss at US Airways in the first quarter.
Excluding a one-time charge related to accounting for revenues from frequent flyer partners, the Arlington, Va.-based carrier lost $115 million, or $1.72 per share. US Airways earned $46 million, or 56 cents per share, in the same period a year ago.
Revenues edged up 1.7 percent to $2.1 billion from $2.07 billion.
