Obituaries for March 1, 1999

Marion Agliata, 92, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Henderson. She was born Nov. 20, 1906, in New York. A resident for 23 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one daughter, Angela Gunter of Las Vegas; one brother, Lawrence Sidito of Corona, N.Y.; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

No local services are scheduled. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Montez Rowley Black

Montez Rowley Black, 95, of Murray, Utah, died Wednesday in Murray. She was born Dec. 21, 1903, in Mexico. A former Las Vegas resident for 40 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by three daughters, Jeneal Leavitt and Joy Pendley, both of Las Vegas, and Arlene Valdes of Murray; one brother, Wilbur Rowley of Meadow, Utah; eight grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. services Tuesday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens.

Marilyn K. Brown

Marilyn K. Brown, 60, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. She was born Nov. 8, 1938, in Springfield, Ill. A resident for nine years, she was a music teacher at Patricia Bendorf Elementary School.

She is survived by her husband, Richard; one son, Sean Connett of Las Vegas; one daughter, Kysa Vassily of San Francisco; one brother, Donald Theobald of Rockford, Ill.; and one grandchild.

A memorial service will be 4 p.m. Friday in the auditorium at Patricia Bendorf Elementary School. Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.

The family suggests donations to Patricia Bendorf Elementary School PTA.

Dorothy Foger

Dorothy Foger, 60, of North Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born Oct. 29, 1938, in Houston. A resident for 42 years, she was a retired hotel executive housekeeper, a member of the Eastern Star Bells of Joy Chapter 3, Prince Hall Affiliation.

She is survived by four daughters, Sharon Hickman, Harolyn Green, Regina Foger and Chastity Crosby, all of Las Vegas; one stepson, Stuart Ausbon of Irving, Texas; four brothers, Eugene Foger Jr., O. Charles Foger, Wilford Foger and Frederick Foger, and one sister, Estella Marie Akison, all of Las Vegas; and seven grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled noon to 7 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 1 p.m. Friday in the Great Commission Interdominational Church, 3329 Coleman St., North Las Vegas.

Herbert Max Glauser

Herbert Max Glauser, 57, of Las Vegas died Feb. 24 in Lubbock, Texas. He was born Dec. 21, 1941, in Philadelphia. A resident for six months, he was an automobile consultant, an Army veteran and a member of the Masons.

He is survived by his wife, Judith of Yorba Linda, Calif.; two sons, Martin B. Glauser of Yorba Linda and Adam R. Glauser of Las Vegas; and three brothers, Barry Glauser of Vineland, N.J., and Stanley Glauser and Jerry Glauser, both of Sarasota, Fla.

Visitation is private. Graveside services will be 12:30 p.m. Tuesday in Palm Memorial Park, Northwest. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.

Charles Douglas Hughes

Charles Douglas Hughes, 46, of Henderson died Thursday in Henderson. He was born Aug. 30, 1952, in Kentucky. A resident for three years, he was a computer engineer and an Air Force veteran.

He is survived by one son, Charles J. Hughes of Spokane, Wash.

Lillian V. Licini

Lillian V. Licini, 89, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born Aug. 5, 1909, in Poland. A resident for 49 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one daughter, Dolores Bernardin of Farmington Hills, Mich.; three sons, John Licini of Dana Point, Calif., Felix Licini of Santa Fe, N.M., and Harry Belcastro of Birmingham, Mich.; three sisters, Ann Volman and Josie Kapik, both of Chicago, and Mae White of Detroit; two brothers, Ed Micek of Chicago and Frank Micek of Phoenix; and nine grandchildren.

Mary T. Marsischky

Mary T. Marsischky, 72, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. She was born May 17, 1926, in Little Rock, Ark. A resident for 12 years, she was a retired entertainer.

She is survived by one son, Mike Marsischky of Pahrump; and two grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled two hours prior to 11 a.m. services Wednesday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will be in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Edward McKinney

Edward McKinney, 73, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local care center. He was born Sept. 17, 1925, in Waterproof, La. A resident for 58 years, he was a bartender, a World War II Navy veteran and a member of the Elks and the Valley View Golf Club.

He is survived by three sons, Rodney Leon McKinney, Ralph Edward McKinney and Donald Wayne McKinney, all of Las Vegas; three brothers, John Turner and Fred Minor, both of Las Vegas, and Calvin Minor of Forest Heights, Md.; one sister, Mary Alice Cook of Forest Heights; and seven grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 6-8 p.m. Tuesday in American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane. Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in American Burial and Cremation Services. Burial will follow in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Thomas E. Mooney

Thomas E. Mooney, 87, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. He was born May 27, 1911, in Helena, Mont. A resident for five years, he was a retired newspaper editor.

He is survived by his wife, Corinne; two sons, Lawrence P. Mooney of Las Vegas and Philip E. Mooney of Gresham, Ore.; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Patricia Selig

Patricia Selig, 73, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born Aug. 2, 1925, in Boulder, Colo. A resident for 41 years, she was a retired supervisor at Nevada Power.

She is survived by four sons, Mark Selig and Richard Nugent, D.C., both of Las Vegas, Carl Selig of Cypress, Calif., and Frank Selig of San Francisco; one sister, Shirley Hanne of Garden Grove, Calif.; and eight grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. today in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in Bunkers Chapel. Burial will follow in Eden Vale Memorial Park.

Verdell C. Veasey

Verdell C. Veasey, 61, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born Oct. 17, 1937, in Marshall, Texas. A resident for seven years, she was a retired assistant librarian.

She is survived by her husband, Dr. Jess F. Veasey; three daughters, Gigi Veasey of Phoenix and Pam Veasey-Williams and Valecia Veasey, both of Altadena, Calif.; two sisters, Mary Washington of Los Angeles and Dorothy Wilkins of Marshall; two brothers, Robert Hall and Percy Hall Jr., both of Marshall; and two grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Palm Chapel, Eastern. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.
