The office of the independent counsel was a Democratic initiative and the act was reauthorized by President Clinton. Ken Starr must get the approval of a three-judge panel and Attorney General Janet Reno to take new actions.
Ken Starr, Linda Tripp and the House of Representatives weren't on trial. President Clinton's irresponsible lies to us, his cabinet, his friends, a federal grand jury and in a deposition in a civil case led to Starr's actions.
The Supreme Court is the highest court in the U.S., not the Senate which, in a partisan action, voted to find President Clinton not guilty.
It is not double jeopardy to take legal action now. How can we have the rule of law when President Clinton, a lawyer, lies to the court and a grand jury?
Voters who vote a straight party line or who are uninformed are used by politicians of both parties.
An example of this is the debate about spending the budget "surplus."
If we have a "surplus" why is the debt increasing?
