StumbleValley’s Fernandez leads Women’s Amateur Championship

Green Valley High School junior Mary Fernandez shot a two-under 70 to take the lead after two days at the Nevada State Women's Amateur Championship Tuesday at Paiute Golf Resort. fernandez, who finished day one with a 77, leads Reno's Debbie Young by two strokes. Las Vegas resident Brenda Knott stands alone in third place with a 155, with Valley High senior Annie Schlosser a stroke back in fourth place. The three-day tournament concludes today.
