The UNLV baseball team, fighting to stay alive in the Western Athletic Conference Tournament picture, will host Texas Christian University in a crucial three-game series beginning Friday night at Wilson Stadium. The Rebels (28-20 overall, 11-13 in the WAC) are coming off a three-game sweep by Rice and have lost four straight but remain in the hunt for a wild-card spot in the six-team conference tournament.
Seven teams are battling for three wild-card spots including TCU (15-8), San Diego State (14-9), UNLV (11-13), BYU (11-13), San Jose State (10-13), Hawaii (10-13) and New Mexico (9-15).
After the three-game set with TCU (Friday at 7:05 p.m., Saturday at 1:05 p.m. and Sunday at 5:05 p.m.), the Rebels have only four regular-season games remaining: a nonconference game Tuesday against Arizona State at Wilson Stadium and a three-game conference series at New Mexico beginning next Friday.
