The Santa Rosa Rancheria Tachi Tribe near the San Joaquin Valley community of Lemoore sent the State of California an invoice for payments it believes it is owed from an 1851 treaty.
The outstanding balance on the 146-year passed-due bill: $161,641,479.02.
"We will allow a 2 percent discount if the entire balance is remitted within 10 days," says the invoice. "Thank you for your time."
