The patrol said the drugs are worth more than $625,000.
The car was stopped on Interstate 80 early Tuesday. Troopers were led to believe that either contraband or drugs were in the car and received permission to search it. Canine Sadie confirmed their suspicions.
The patrol said a hidden compartment in the passenger area contained nearly nine pounds of the two drugs.
The two men, Cuauhtemoc Rojas, 28, and Alejandro Cruz, 26, both from Oceano, Calif., are being held in the Elko County jail under $200,000 bail each on charges of trafficking, transporting, possession and possession for sales of a controlled substance.
