A suspect in the armed robbery about midnight Tuesday of a Showboat hotel-casino cashier has been identified by Metro Police as a former employee of the casino.
An arrest warrant was issued today for David Ray Sheperd, 34, Lt. John Alamshaw said. The warrant, charging Sheperd with burglary with the use of a deadly weapon and robbery with a deadly weapon, was signed by Justice of the Peace Doug Smith.
The suspect walked away with an undisclosed amount of cash, Alamshaw said. The robbery was captured on surveillance videotape at the hotel, at 2800 Fremont St., hotel security director Ed Eckels said.
Police are asking anyone with information about Shepherd's whereabouts to call the Robbery Detail at 229-3591 or Secret Witness at 385-5555.
