Robert Wade Morse was convicted Feb. 26 of murder, burglary and coercion in the March 22 death of Gordon Andrew Lymbery, 47.
Lymbery died of a heart attack following a fist fight with Morse.
He was sentenced on Monday by District Judge Jack Ames to concurrent prison sentences on the convictions. He also was ordered to repay $6,413 to Lymbery's estate and was fined $5,000.
Morse was convicted of breaking into Lymbery's home, finding his estranged wife there and killing Lymbery during a fist fight. The coercion charge was lodged because Morse prevented his wife from calling 911 by ripping the telephone out of the wall.
Elko County District Attorney Gary Woodbury sought a maximum of life in prison without possibility of parole, but the Elko Daily Free Press said Ames followed the recommendation of the Nevada Division of Parole and Probation.
