The commission responded that the three aren't in Douglas County and offered them a 5 percent increase along with an assurance that the issue was open for negotiation, the Mason Valley News reported.
Attorney Ken Ward represented the three attorneys in asking for a $12,000-a-year boost in the $83,333 each currently receives. The commission's offer would take them to $87,500.
