Yerington employees seek bargaining recognition

If it wins recognition, the association would join the Yerington Police Officers Association, which has represented city police for about six years, the Mason Valley News reported.
The association is being represented by John Kidwell, an independent labor management consultant, who also serves as representative for the Lyon County Employees Association.
The law requires an association to request recognition by Feb. 1, so the proposed Yerington group would not officially pursue a contract until the 1999-2000 fiscal year, according to City Manager Roland Adams.
