Rebels in WAC tennis tourney

The UNLV men's tennis team travels to this week's Western Athletic Conference tennis tournament at Tulsa, Okla. The Rebels, ranked 35th in the country, are expected to receive one of three byes in the 13-team event. With a bye, UNLV would open play Thursday with one dual match. The Rebels are led by 43-ranked singles player Asaf Tishler and the 46th-ranked doubles team of Nenad Zivkovic and Gregor Skorin. UNLV's 38th-ranked women's team begins play in the WAC tournament April 29 at Fort Worth, Texas.

In other UNLV news:

Brandi Isgar pitched a three-hit shutout as the women's softball team broke a nine-game losing streak with a 1-0 victory over San Diego State in the first game of a doubleheader Tuesday at Rebel Diamond. The Aztecs rolled to a 9-1 triumph in the second game. The split gives the Lady Rebels a 10-12 WAC record and 16-23 overall.
