James Herbert Adkins Jr., 71, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born June 24, 1926, in Wichita, Kan. A resident for 5 1/2 years, he was a hospital nurse and a World War II Navy veteran.

He is survived by three sons, Walter L. Adkins of San Jose, Calif., Michael Adkins of Philadelphia and James Adkins of Baltimore; two daughters, LaDonna R. Adkins and Melodie L. Ralls, both of Las Vegas; 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 1-7 p.m. Thursday in American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane. Services will be 9:30 a.m. Friday in American Burial and Cremation Services. Graveside services will be 11:30 a.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

RICHARD C. BIERLY

Richard C. Bierly, 71, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Florida. He was born Nov. 7, 1926, in Avis, Pa. A resident for seven years, he was a mail carrier, a World War II Army veteran and a member of the National Association of Letter Carriers.

He is survived by his wife, Frances; two sons, Lyle J. and Dennis G., both of Las Vegas; two brothers, Howard Bierly and Harold Bierly, both of Pennsylvania; one sister, Shirley Girton of Florida; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 3-7 p.m. Thursday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 10 a.m. Friday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens.

MOLLIE BROMELL

Mollie Bromell, 93, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born Dec. 16, 1904, in Philadelphia. A resident for two years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one son, George Bromell of Henderson; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 2-4 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

EDWARD BURGOS

Edward Burgos, 66, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Feb. 12, 1932, in Wilkes Barre, Pa. A resident for 11 years, he was a retired telephone company maintenance man.

He is survived by four sisters, Mary Parascando of Las Vegas, Arlene O'Rourke of Manville, N.J., Martha Nankiville of Simi Valley, Calif., and Shirley Fitzsimmons of Matawan, N.J.

Services will be 3 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

The family suggests donations to Vista Hospice Care, 1830 E. Sahara, Suite 102, Las Vegas.

SHIRLEY ANN CLOHERTY

Shirley Ann Cloherty, 65, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. She was born Aug. 27, 1932, in Joplin, Mo. A resident for eight years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Robert; two sons, Edward and Jeffrey; two daughters, Vicki Brown and Christine Mongus; and one sister, Dorie Taylor.

Neptune Society of Nevada, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, Building 5, is handling arrangements.

LORRAINE CUSTINO

Lorraine Custino, 66, of Henderson died Tuesday in Henderson. She was born Oct. 29, 1931, in Hawaii. A resident for many years, she was a hotel executive secretary.

She is survived by two daughters, Lani Arellano of Henderson and Vicki Custino of Hawaii; two brothers, Lawrence Rodrigues and John Rodrigues, and two sisters, Rachel Rodrigues and Nina Ropozo, all of Hawaii; and eight grandchildren.

Burial will be in Hawaii. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, handled arrangements.

GARLAND GUY CREWS JR.

Garland Guy Crews Jr., 25, of Las Vegas died Sunday at Mount Charleston. He was born Oct. 30, 1972, in Phoenix. A resident for four years, he was a carpenter and a member of the Carpenters Union.

He is survived by his father, Garland Crews Sr.; his mother, Jeannette Joseph; two brothers, Brian Crews and Michael Crews; and one sister, Yvonne Stockton.

LIZBETH TRUDY GOODMAN

Lizbeth Trudy Goodman, 51, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. She was born Dec. 31, 1946, in Los Angeles. A resident for five years, she did medical staff scheduling at UCLA.

She is survived by one brother, William.

Elsa Gresser, 94, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 15, 1903, in Austria. A resident for many years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one nephew, Rudolph Schneider; and one niece, Dagmar Schneider.

JoFaye Haynes, 64, of North Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born Jan. 6, 1934, in Hempstead County, Ark. A resident for 26 years, she was a licensed practical nurse.

She is survived by her husband, Daniel; one daughter, Carol Thomas of North Las Vegas; six sons, Melvin Cobb of Long Beach, Calif., Raymond Cobb, Brian Cobb and Robert Cobb, all of Las Vegas, Gregory Cobb of Henderson and Perry Cobb of North Las Vegas; five sisters, Annie Mae Sampson of Pueblo, Colo., Lola Mae Jordan and Iola Wadsworth, both of Compton, Calif., Betty Brooks of El Centro, Calif., and Lyruth Mosley of North Las Vegas; 24 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Russell Hepler Jr., 69, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospice. He was born Jan. 27, 1929, in Indiana. A resident for 10 years, he was a camera salesman and an Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Sabrina.

Mary C. Hinrichs, 77, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospice. She was born Dec. 2, 1920, in Detroit. A resident for 30 years, she was a retired civil service executive secretary.

She is survived by two sisters, Elizabeth Boss of Saline, Mich., and Rita Atwell of Las Vegas.

Terry McCormick, 62, of Las Vegas died March 18 in Las Vegas. He was born March 11, 1936, in Missouri. A resident for 14 years, he was a writer with credits including a novel and television and was a member of Las Vegas Sons of Erin.

He is survived by his companion, Melanie Spence; 11 children; two brothers; and one sister.

GUILLERMINA 'JEAN' PEREIRA

Guillermina "Jean" Pereira, 47, of Henderson died Monday in Los Angeles. She was born June 10, 1950, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A resident for 18 years, she was a specialized teacher's assistant at John F. Miller Special School for 16 years.

She is survived by two daughters, Carmen Tangaro and Ines Myers, both of Las Vegas; four brothers, Joseph Diaz of Glide, Ore., Douglas Diaz and Ted Diaz, both of Henderson, and Cruz Diaz of Las Vegas; two sisters, Rosa Padilla of Henderson and Iris Alba of Las Vegas; and three grandchildren.

Larry Robinson Sr., 42, of Las Vegas died April 13 in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 2, 1955, in Procer, Ark. A resident for 15 years, he was a porter.

He is survived by two sons, Larry Robinson Jr. and Terry Brooks; four daughters, Desiree Gillard, Jasmine Robinson, Crystal Brooks and Jannie Robinson; his parents, Roosevelt and Jannie Robinson; four sisters, Carolyn Robinson, Patricia Robinson, Helen Robinson and Angela Robinson; and 10 grandchildren.

FREDERICK WILBUR ROWLES

Frederick Wilbur Rowles, 72, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born Oct. 11, 1925, in Mineral Springs, Pa. A resident for 23 years, he was a retired Marine Corps master sergeant and a World War II, Korean War and Vietnam War veteran.

He is survived by one son, Frederick William Rowles of Las Vegas; four brothers, Clair Rowles, Gerald Rowles, Edward Rowles and Wayne Rowles, and three sisters, Nancy Maines, Mary Rowles and Mildred Rowles, all of Pennsylvania; and one grandchild.

HARRISON Y. SLONE

Harrison Y. Slone, 79, of Las Vegas died Sunday. He was born May 8, 1918. A resident for 11 years, he was a retired Air Force lieutenant colonel and member of the Retired Officers Club.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara; two sons, Kent Slone of Tucson, Ariz., and Thomas Slone of Dayton, Ohio; and one brother, Robert Slone of North Carolina.

Elena Weber, 97, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born Jan. 29, 1901, in Italy. A resident for eight years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by two sons, Harry Weber of Las Vegas and Joseph Weber of Lake Havasu City, Ariz.; 15 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

Services will be in Arizona. Davis Funeral Home, 2127 W. Charleston Blvd., is handling arrangements.
