Dolores Blanco, 97, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born Sept. 28, 1900, in Spain. A resident for 31 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by two daughters, Maria Diaz of Las Vegas and Anglea Escudero of Miami; two sons, Universo Blanco of Las Vegas and Edmundo Blanco of Miami; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Visitation will continue until 8 p.m. today with a 6 p.m. rosary in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in Bunkers Chapel. Burial will follow in Eden Vale Memorial Park.

Anne F. Boekeloo, 85, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. A resident for 25 years, she was born March 29, 1913, in Chicago.

She is survived by one daughter, Eileen Nellis of Las Vegas; one sister, Mary Pusztay of Springfield, Ohio; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

GEORGE CHEKOWITZ

George Chekowitz, 72, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born May 24, 1925, in Chicago. A resident for 35 years, he was a retired security officer, a World War II Marine Corps veteran and a member of American Legion Post 55.

He is survived by his wife, Lorraine; two daughters, Dee Dykes and Laura Chekowitz, and one son, Paul Chekowitz, all of Las Vegas; one sister, Helen Ciszek of Chicago; one brother, Alex Chekowitz of Berwyn, Ill.; and one grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. services Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. A private burial will follow.

BEN COOPER

Ben Cooper, 79, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born June 23, 1918, in Chicago. A resident for 12 years, he was a retired clothier and a World War II Army veteran.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosaline.

He is survived by one daughter, Susan Cable of San Francisco; one son, Robert Cooper of Dallas; three sisters, Belle Green of Phoenix and Ida Miller and Henrietta Kramer, both of Skokie, Ill.; one brother, Irving Cooper of Margate, Fla.; and one granddaughter.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in Woodlawn Cemetery. Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Welma Newby Dietrich, 73, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born April 26, 1924, in Wallace, Idaho. A resident for 52 years, she was a retired public accountant.

She is survived by one son, Conley Newby of Las Vegas; one sister, Leota Jackson of Henderson; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Vincent Fezza, 69, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born Feb. 3, 1929, in New York. A resident for two years, he was a police officer.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara; and one son, Glen Fezza of Las Vegas.

Dorothy Evelyn Foster, 80, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born in Colorado. A resident for three years, she was a retail grocery clerk.

She is survived by her husband, William W.; one daughter, Sharon Lea Vela of Las Vegas; one son, Bruce Foster of Oregon; and one sister, Ellen Velle of Alaska.

Stu Friedlander, 69, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Oct. 11, 1928, in New York City. A resident for 39 years, he was an automobile sales manager and a Korean War Air Force veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Jeanne; one daughter, Diane Tedesco, and two sons, Mark Friedlander and John Friedlander, all of Las Vegas; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Alice Caroline Gerling, 91, of Henderson died Friday in Boulder City. A resident for 15 years, she was born April 8, 1907, in Milwaukee.

Irene Juliette Girard, 94, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local care center. She was born April 25, 1903, in Central Falls, R.I. A resident for three years, she was a retired twister in the textile industry.

She is survived by two daughters, Reina Parisi of Rehoboth, Mass., and Dorice Bruno of Las Vegas; one son, Robert J. Girard of Las Vegas; nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Theodore George Hahn, 71, of Las Vegas died April 13 in a local health care center. He was born July 30, 1926, in Barronette, Wis. A resident for 10 years, he was a plant engineer for A.O. Smith Corp. and a Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Carol; four sons, Theodore Jacob Hahn, Fred Hagedorn, Jim Hagedorn and Rich Hagedorn; and seven grandchildren.

Emmalle A. Holloway, 84, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local care center. She was born Feb. 2, 1914, in Alcoa, Tenn. A resident for five years, she was a homemaker.

She is survied by two sons, Jack Holloway of Bullhead City, Ariz., and Thomas W. Holloway of Fallbrook, Calif.; four daughters, Barbara L. Lawrence James Clifton Jones, 69, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born July 31, 1928, in Cushing, Okla. A resident for 30 years, he was a boilermaker in the construction industry, a World War II Navy veteran, a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Boilermaker/Blacksmith Union.

He is survived by his wife, Chloe; three daughters, Karen McNeel, Marilyn Sue Thornell and Ellen Mirti, and one son, Alan Van Buren, all of Las Vegas; two sisters, Geraldine Van Buren of Watsonville, Calif., and Wilma Leslie of Pryor, Okla.; and 10 grandchildren.
