The Nevada Highway Patrol said Francisco Aguirre, 29, of Sioux City, was booked into the Lander County Jail after the discovery of the meth in his vehicle last week near Battle Mountain.
A police dog found the meth in a hidden compartment near the gas tank.
Aguirre was stopped after troopers observed a mechanical problem with his vehicle. A routine check found he had a suspended driver's license and a subsequent search turned up the drugs.
He was arrested on a variety of charges, including trafficking in controlled substances. His bail was set at $200,310.
