Fishing is not tranquil and peaceful. A boat ride on a serene lake is peaceful. Meditating in the woods is tranquil. People can enjoy these activities without impaling a sentient being on a hook and watching him thrash to death. That is violent.
Please, Ruthe, go with your gut feeling, not what fishermen and -women tell you.
