Clifton J. Young to run for Assembly

CARSON CITY -- Reno lawyer Clifton J. Young, the son of Nevada Supreme Court Justice Cliff Young, is going to make his first try political office.

Young, 40, announced Friday he would run for the Assembly on the Republican ticket in District 27 to succeed GOP Incumbent Pat Hickey, who is not seeking a second term.

Young's father served in the state Senate before being elected to the Nevada Supreme Court. His great grandfather S. R. Young was a member of the 1915 Legislature, representing Humboldt County.

Young specializes in family law and criminal defense.
