Lakers to play Jazz Oct. 27 at Thomas & Mack Center

The Los Angeles Lakers return to the Thomas & Mack Center on Oct. 27 to challenge the Utah Jazz in an NBA pre-season game.

The Lakers this season became the first team in 15 years to have four players -- Shaquille O'Neal, Kobe Bryant, Nick Van Exel and Eddie Jones -- appear in the NBA All-Star game. Los Angeles is this year's highest-scoring team and Bryant is the league's top scorer off the bench, averaging nearly 16 points per game.

The Jazz is led by Karl Malone, who this year took over fourth place on the NBA's all-time scoring list when the Jazz played the Lakers on March 28. He trails only Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Wilt Chamberlain and Michael Jordan. Utah point guard John Stockton holds the league's all-time record for assists (12,659) and steals (2,614).

Tickets for the Las Vegas game will go on sale April 20 at 10 a.m. Tickets -- priced $10, $15, $20, $35, $45 and $75 -- will be available at the Thomas & Mack and all Ticketmaster locations. To charge by phone, call Ticketmaster at 474-4000. For more information, call 895-3900.
