Criminal’s call to police leads to his arrest

So, he called police to let them know.

Turns out, he offered police something better - Truhe himself was wanted in Rosamond, Calif., for a long list of serious crimes, including the rape of his 7-year-old daughter.

Truhe, 33, called Metro Police Wednesday morning to say he was not the suspect in the recent assault cases.

"He read an article in this morning's paper that gave a description of the serial rapist," Sgt. Clint Robison told KTNV Channel 13.

Truhe thought the article described him, so he called police.

Officers convinced Truhe to meet them in a parking lot, and meanwhile, ran a background check on him. Truhe was taken into custody without incident.

He will be extradited to California to face several sexual assault and drug charges.

A loaded shotgun, a large amount of cash and methamphetamines were seized from Truhe's Las Vegas apartment Wednesday.

Police said Truhe is not the suspect being sought in Las Vegas for sexual assault.
