Letter: Liberal ideas have hurt public schools
Tuesday, April 14, 1998 | 10:44 a.m.
Exasperated because he is on the wrong side of another basic issue, today's liberal resorts to attacking conservatives as "book burners," "storm troopers" and "monsters" rather than on the facts and merit of their position. I am still waiting for a frustrated liberal to offer a valid reason why Clark County's schoolchildren should be labeled as "homosexual," "bisexual" or "heterosexual."
Excuse me if I sound a bit suspicious and cynical about the left wing's off-the-wall ideas to "help" our education system. Over the past 30 years, these liberal ideas have contributed more than anything else to the demise of our schools, including pathetic test scores and rising delinquency problems.
Let's look to some other sources for information on how to make our schools better.
