Dominic Strollo, 56, of Canfield, Ohio, was among those accused of deceiving the National Indian Gaming Commission, which regulates Indian casinos.
They funneled money from illegal gaming in western Pennsylvania to the short-lived River Oak Casino on the Rincon reservation in Valley Center, Calif., near San Diego. Authorities say $2.1 million was laundered.
A total of 17 people pleaded guilty to the venture in San Diego and Pittsburgh. They had been accused of bypassing the gaming commission's regulations; obstructing justice and bribing a tribal official, among other charges.
Strollo also pleaded guilty in Cleveland to tax-evasion charges.
