Hypnotist helps nab sexual assault suspect

Raymond Carter, 42, was arrested for investigation of sexual assault after a brief foot chase near his home last week, the Mason Valley News reported.
Lyon County sheriff's Sgt. Lonnie Thompson said Carter had been the primary suspect for some time, but investigators lacked crucial details in the case.
Thompson said the forensic hypnotist broke the case open by assisting the victim in recalling information she previously had not been able to remember.
He said a new Nevada law permits the use of hypnotists in criminal investigations and this marked the first time one has been used in the county.
The sexual assault occurred Nov. 15 when the pizza deliverywoman was sent to a Mason Valley location. Upon her arrival there, she was lured to an unlit area where she was sexually assaulted.
