Elko feels budget crunch

The budget anticipates a revenue decline of nearly $1 million from the current fiscal year.
"In a nutshell, that's sales tax," City Manager Linda Ritter said.
The package calls for income of $10.77 million and outgo of $10.45 million and is not expected to change significantly. "It's as good as it gets," Ms. Ritter said.
The revised budget for the current fiscal year calls for general fund revenues of $11.49 million and expenditures of $11.67 million, the Elko Daily Free Press reported.
