The UNLV rodeo team will host the Grand Canyon Regional Finals beginning at 7 tonight and Saturday starting at 1 p.m. at the Rocking K Arena off U.S. 95 at Ann Road.
College teams from the West Coast will compete for scores, buckles and bragging rights. Tickets cost $5 and are available at the Thomas & Mack Center box office or at the gate.
"This will be the time to welcome our UNLV team members back to town as they try to win the Grand Canyon Regional title," said coach Ric Griffith. "We currently are No. 1 in the nation, so it will be an action-packed show for young and old alike with a full schedule of rodeo action. This team has done well all across the West Coast and now it's time to show the hometown crowd just what we can do."
Scheduled events include saddle bronc, bareback, bull riding, calf roping, steer wrestling, barrel racing and goat tying.
