Man killed in apartment parking lot

Police were called to the scene on the city's east side before dawn Friday on reports of shots fired.

They found the victim dead from an apparent gunshot wound to the torso.

The name of the victim has not been released.

Witnesses said they heard a gunshot and saw two men running from the scene. They also saw a small red vehicle leaving the parking lot. The witnesses were able to obtain a partial Nevada license plate number, with the first three figures 079.

The victim was at the apartment to visit his girlfriend, police said. No motive has been established.
