Suspect sought in street slaying

A suspect in the shooting death Wednesday morning of a Las Vegas man is being sought today by Metro Police.

The shooting occurred about 10:20 a.m. while Curtis Harris, 28, was standing in the street with friends in the 1900 block of Walker Street near H Street and Lake Mead Boulevard, Metro Police. The suspect allegedly drove up in a black Dodge. Witnesses told police the man got out of the car, walked up to Curtis and asked him about money Curtis owed him.

The two argued, and the suspect allegedly pulled out a gun and shot Curtis once in the chest, police said. The suspect got in his car and drove away, police said.

The car was later recovered.

Based on their investigation, police have identified the suspect, who will be arrested and held on probable cause if he is found, a detective said today.

"Anthony Bagley is being sought for the charge of murder with a weapon," homicide Lt. Wayne Petersen said.

Bagley, an ex-felon, "is considered armed and dangerous," Petersen said.

Bagley's whereabouts were not known this morning, police said.

Bagley's son, 7-year-old Tony Bagley, was killed in a North Las Vegas drive-by shooting on Halloween night three years ago. The gunman was never found. The shootings are unrelated, North Las Vegas and Metro Police officials said today.

Bagley is described as black, 5 feet 8 inches tall, 150 pounds, with brown eyes and a shaved head. He may be driving a 1997 Mercury Mountaineer with a Nevada license plate number of 022GPL.

Anyone with information is asked to call homicide at 229-3521 or Secret Witness at 385-5555.
