Marie Adams, 19, was originally charged with second-degree murder and child neglect.
Adams appeared in Henderson Justice Court Tuesday and waived her right to a preliminary hearing, meaning her case will go directly to District Court.
Her attorney said she will plead guilty to the neglect charge when she appears April 28.
The charge carries a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison but her attorney plans to argue for probation.
Authorities say Adams stuffed her newborn baby girl in a plastic bag after giving birth Feb. 9 and put the bag in a closet in her parents' home.
Her attorney told the court his client was scared and wanted no harm to come to the baby.
