Patricia Armfield, 59, of Las Vegas died March 12 in Las Vegas. A resident for many years, she was born Feb. 3, 1939.

JOHN F. BRENNAN

John F. Brennan, 80, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born April 29, 1917, in Allentown, Pa. A resident for five years, he was a rug cleaner for residential homes for 50 years.

He is survived by five daughters, Gay Kremenek of Las Vegas, Cathy Lucas of Adelanto, Calif., Kathy Novoa of North Hills, Calif., Cheryl L. Pease of Livermore, Calif., and Barbara Matejka of Eugene, Ore.; 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

KENNETH RONALD CARSON

Kenneth Ronald Carson, 56, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born Dec. 8, 1941, in Pawtucket, R.I. A resident for 28 years, he was a letter carrier for 14 years for the U.S. Postal Service, a Vietnam War Air Force veteran, a member of the National Association of Letter Carriers and the Retired Enlisted Association.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Ann; one son, Kenneth Robert Carson of Las Vegas; his parents, Kenneth R. and Myrtle P. Carson of Henderson; and one brother, Donald B. Carson.

Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in the Trinity Life Center. Graveside services will be 8 a.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.

The family suggests donations to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, Memphis, Tenn.

O. HOWARD DEAN JR.

O. Howard Dean Jr., 71, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Oct. 13, 1926, in Harlan County, Ky. A resident for 10 years, he was a retired osteopathic physician and a World War II Merchant Marine veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Gloria; two sons, Howard Clay Dean of Albuquerque, N.M., and Dr. Joel M. Dean of Grand Junction, Colo.; one daughter, Melissa A. McLean of Albuquerque; one sister, Eula Bjerke of Utica, Mich.; one brother, Clifford Dean of Birmingham, Mich.; and three grandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

EVA LUM DEES

Eva Lum Dees, 80, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born March 14, 1918, in Maui, Hawaii. A resident for six years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one daughter, Sandra; and one sister, Martha L. Akau.

Ron Emmert Sr., 62, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Dec. 1, 1935, in French Camp, Calif. A resident for 31 years, he was a casino proposition player, a retired employee of the Las Vegas Club and a poker room employee for Palace Station.

He is survived by his wife, Ginger; two sons, John Papia of Henderson and Ron Emmert Jr. of Las Vegas; two daughters, Donna Emmert and Diane Emmert, both of Long Beach, Calif.; one brother, Gary Emmert of Capitola, Calif.; and five grandchildren.

Constance Marie Fields, 74, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born April 22, 1923, in Millville, Pa. A resident for 25 years, she was a retired casino game starter.

She is survived by two sons, Gary Donnelly of Washington, D.C., and Richard Fields of Paso Robles, Calif.; three daughters, Dianne Barnaba of San Diego, and Nancy Campana and Darrellyn Blanck, both of Las Vegas.

Edward C. Fraga, 81, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospice. He was born Dec. 15, 1916, in Oakland, Calif. A resident for 13 years, he was an instrument technician on nautical equipment, a Navy veteran and a member of the American Merchant Marine Veterans.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley; two sons, Edward and James Mills; one daughter, Theresa Fraga; one brother, Joseph; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

M. ROY 'CHIC' GOODWILL

M. Roy "Chic" Goodwill, 69, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 13, 1928, in New York City. A resident for 47 years, he was a restaurateur.

He is survived by two sons, Mark Goodwill (Wyndee) and Scott Goodwill, both of Las Vegas; one stepdaughter, Dana Wiltz of California; one sister, Geraldine Grant of New York City; and two grandchildren.

Services were scheduled at 10 a.m. today in St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, followed by burial in Woodlawn Cemetery. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., handled arrangements.

MICHAEL PATRICK HAMILTON

Michael Patrick Hamilton, 87, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. He was born March 31, 1911, in New York. A resident for 10 years, he was a retired meat packer.

He is survived by his wife, Florence.

Kaye Ross Hirshfeld, 81, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born April 19, 1916, in Iowa. A resident for many years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by two sons, Joseph R. Hirshfeld of Las Vegas and Ross R. Hirshfeld Jr. of Colorado.

Lenore Insley, 73, of Las Vegas died March 14 in Las Vegas. A resident for many years, she was born March 21, 1924.

Lois Jean Johnson, 80, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born March 24, 1918, in Portland, Ore. A resident for 36 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by two daughters, Claudia Rose Bernecker of Tillamook, Ore., and Jean C. Hoffman of New Braunfels, Texas; two stepsons, Steve Johnson of Las Vegas and Dan Johnson of Reno; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

David Lambert, 54, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born May 24, 1943, in Massachusetts. A resident for two years, he was a pipe fitter.

Ruth Gertrude Minicucci, 89, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local convalescent center. She was born Feb. 7, 1909, in Cleveland. A resident for 1 1/2 years, she was a homemaker.

Victor LaVerne Mitchell, 72, of Downey, Calif., died Dec. 4, 1997, in Downey. He was born Sept. 12, 1925, in Missouri. A former Las Vegas resident, he was an employee at the Sands and Dunes hotel-casinos and a Navy veteran.

He is survived by two daughters, Connie Weston of St. Joseph, Mo., and Sharon Mitchell of Omaha, Neb.; two sons, Michael Mitchell of Omaha and Mickey Mitchell of Nashville, Tenn.; his mother, Martha Mitchell of La Mirada, Calif.; two sisters; two brothers; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Leroy Morris Powell Sr., 69, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born Oct. 18, 1928, in Cats Island, West Indies. A resident for five years, he was a postal supervisor and an Air Force veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Nam; two sons, Leroy Jr. and Darrell Williams; five daughters, Cynthia Powell-Cobb, Susan Moss, Karene Graham, Denise Williams and Cheryl Williams; one sister, Dorothy Carder; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Marion Audrey Ross, 76, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born Dec. 30, 1921, in Baden, Pa. A resident for 19 years, she was a civil service secretary.

She is survived by three sons, Daniel Ross of North Las Vegas and Bill Ross and Jeff Ross, both of Las Vegas; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

George Washington Ryan, 81, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local care center. He was born Feb. 22, 1917, in Shreveport, La. A resident for 37 years, he was a barber, a physician and a World War II Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Sue; two daughters, Jewelene D. Nelson and Cheryl F. Riley, both of Las Vegas; and two grandchildren.

Joseph Szafraniec, 77, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local health care center. He was born March 25, 1921, in Chicago. A resident for 25 years, he was a retired Army veteran and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He is survived by his wife, ValJean; two sons, Albert Lee and Tracy John; and one grandchild.

Corazon Magana Tiffe, 59, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born Dec. 5, 1938, in the Philippines. A resident for 18 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Raymond; two sons, Josalito Rayos and Edward Vance Jr.; four daughters, Lisa, Elen, Lulie and Nancy; two brothers, Ricardo and Rudy; two sisters, Myrna and Vicky; 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Rosa B. Ygnaci, 90, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born Aug. 29, 1907, in Manila, Philippines. A resident for 20 years, she was a homemaker and a member of the Filipino Senior Citizens.

She is survived by four daughters, Donata Munar, Hilaria Silvestre, Maria Argarin and Delfina Catanuag, all of the Philippines; 14 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today and 2 p.m. until 7 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 10 a.m. Friday in Palm Chapel, Eastern. Graveside services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.
