Police say killing involved lovers’ triangle

What Metro Police are calling a lover's triangle ended in gunfire early Monday with one man dead and another man behind bars.

Patrol officers were dispatched to the 6300 block of Gunderson Boulevard, near Jones Boulevard and Flamingo Road, at 3:43 a.m. where they found Dennis Vanduser, 35, lying dead in the road from multiple gunshot wounds.

The investigators developed the theory of a love triangle upon identifying Vanduser, said Sgt. Kevin Manning. A short time later, Tam Cong Nguyen, 42, was taken into custody at his residence, Nguyen's wife was also at the residence and found unharmed, Manning said.

Nguyen had apparently hidden inside the trunk of his wife's car while she was at work, and remained hidden when his wife gave Vanduser a ride home at shift's end about 3 a.m., Manning said.

"It was during the ride that Nguyen came out of hiding and shot the victim," Manning said.
