The woman's body was found after someone called 911 around 8:30 p.m., police said.
The victim, whose name was withheld, was described as a white woman in her 30s.
Further details of the killing were not immediately released.
Police Lt. Dave Zarubi said another killing occurred in the same house last year, though it is unknown if the slayings are related.
The body of Judith Ann Laine, 33, was found Nov. 13 in Boca Reservoir west of Reno. Police said she was killed in the shower at the home on 19th Street.
A suspect in that killing, John Andre Bazile, is scheduled to stand trial in August.
