Undersheriff to run for sheriff’s job in Lander COunty

His announcement follows Sheriff Kenny Moore's decision last month not to seek re-election.

If elected, Kranovich said, he would work to implement community-oriented policing and to regain public trust in the sheriff's department.

"People don't feel they're getting their money's worth," he told the Battle Mountain Bugle.

Kranovich joined the force as undersheriff in 1995 after eight years as Carlin police chief. His 21-year law enforcement career also has included stints in Ely, and Eureka and Humboldt counties.
