Italian-American gala to be held in May

The National Italian American Foundation will be hosting a gala in Las Vegas on May 16 at the MGM Grand hotel-casino. The gala will include entertainment by Dany Ganz along with dinner and dancing. Celebrities, including singer Frankie Valli, will be attending the event. Anthony Marnell II, chairman and chief executive officer of the Rio hotel-casino and Marnell Corrao Associates, will receive an award for high achievement in business. The event will serve as an unofficial grand opening of the new MGM Grand Convention Center, built by Marnell's construction company. Dinner tickets are $150 a person. To purchase tickets, contact John Salamone at 1-800-989-6423. The NIAF is a nonprofit organization based in Washington, D.C., and is dedicated to preserving the heritage of Italian Americans. Proceeds will benefit the NIAF scholarship fund and education programs.
