Five named for Women’s Role Model Award

CARSON CITY -- Five public employees in Clark County have been named to receive the fourth annual Nevada Women's Role Model Award for their work in the community.

They are Diana Byrd, a teacher at Cimarron-Memorial High School; Genevieve Kucan, a teacher at Las Vegas High School; Ann Casados-Mueller, director of diversity initiatives at UNLV; Conee Spano, director of the Women's Center at UNLV; and Mary Heine, a supervisor in the Child Protective Services Division of Clark County Family and Youth Services.

Attorney General Frankie Sue Del Papa announced the selections Friday saying these five "are being recognized for their significant contributions to our communities, our state and our history."

They will receive their awards May 2 at the 1998 Eye On Women Expo at the new MGM Grand Convention Center in Las Vegas.
