Commissioners accept $25,000 to hire golf greens superintendent

The panel accepted $25,000 from the Fair and Recreation Board to hire a greens superintendent at the golf course.

The person who gets the nod will have a job to attend to.

First, the superintendent will work to finish the greens on the back nine. Second, the work entails an irrigation system for the entire golf course.

"The needs are immediate," Fair and Recreation Board Member Larry Metcalf said.

If hired, the greens superintendent would work from April until December and likely would be a county contract employee.
