The two sides remain about $13 million apart on a new two-year contract.
The district is offering $53.07 million which amounts to a 6.9 percent pay hike divided over two years, with an additional 1 percent bonus each year.
Teachers are asking for $66.5 million, which amounts to 4.75 percent over each of the two years.
The union declared an impasse in December, but the two sides continued to talk with assistance from a mediator.
Now it has become clear that neither side is going to budge, and the case is going to arbitration.
