Letter: Banning neighborhood slots will hurt owners, employees

Pulling the slots out of supermarkets and convenience stores will not make Las Vegas a better place to live.

First, think of the many employees who will be laid off and the folks who own the slots. Think of the lost benefits the employees will not be getting. Mayor Jan Laverty Jones says it's a bad environment for children to view these slots. Does she realize that the children have to pass slots to go to the arcades in casinos?

They also have to pass slots to go to the rest rooms. It's the same with Circus Circus and the Excalibur. They have to pass slots. When folks bring their children in a casino to eat, they have to pass slots.

So Jones should leave the slots alone and pay attention to the City Hall's business.
