School police took the 15-year-old boy from class Thursday shortly after a witness reported seeing him snatch the woman's purse and run.
Victim Gail Cable told police that a boy asked her for change so he could phone his mother. When she opened the purse, he grabbed it and ran.
A witness saw the boy run to the campus. After locating the boy in class, police recovered the victims' $300 and found her purse in a trash container.
