Minden girl leads Oregon police to bomb plot

The Douglas County sheriff's Office said on Tuesday that the 14-year-old boy was communicating with the Minden girl, also 14, over the weekend and allegedly told her that he intended to blow up the Adams Stephens School in Salem, Ore.

The girl told her parents, who contacted Douglas County authorities.

Investigators in Nevada then contacted Salem police and forwarded a printout of the Internet discussion provided by the girl.

Douglas County sheriff's Sgt. Lance Modispacher says Salem police recognized the suspect and indicated that the alleged threat "fit" his behavior pattern.

The boy was arrested and placed in juvenile custody.

Neither the names of the suspect nor the girl were released.
