Wind, Rain, Buffet Northern Nevada

A high wind warning was posted through 11 a.m. from Reno south to Gardnerville and in the Sierra, with wind gusts to 70 mph anticipated.
With temperatures above freezing, the storm was mostly felt as rain the valleys and lower elevations of the Sierra, but a winter storm warning remainsed in effect for elevations above 7,000 feet.
The National Weather Service said snow could be heavy at times, with snow levels lowering to around 5,500 feet by afternoon.
About 2-4 inches of snow was forecast around Lake Tahoe, with anywhere from 1-2 feet expected above 7,500 feet.
Interstate 80 from Reno to Sacramento, Calif., was open without controls early in the day.
But chains or snow tires were required on the Mount Rose Highway southwest of Reno and on Kingsbury Grade in Douglas County.
