McCarran International Airport set a record in March for the highest number of passengers to pass through its gates in a single month.
And if the pace continues, airport officials expect passenger volume to break 30 million for 1996.
Almost 2.8 million people traveled through McCarran in March, 8.8 percent more than the same time a year ago, for an average of 90,000 passengers a day. That's the highest recorded for a single month in the airport's history, spokeswoman Nora Cooper said.
So far this year, 7.5 million people have gone through McCarran, 10 percent more than at this time last year, with an average of 874 flights a day.
