Flinching Metro officers need more time on range

Police officers are taught to shoot center-of-mass (chest shot). Yet in these last two incidents, one suspect was shot in the foot and the other several times in the groin and legs. It doesn't take a range-master to realize that these officers are jerking their triggers terribly.

What's wrong with the shooting program at Metro? I'm told these officers are only allowed to shoot four times a year, and one of those times is with the shotgun which most cops never even take out of the trunk of their patrol cars! So that's three times a year the officer pulls the trigger in practice. Any target shooter will tell you that's hardly enough to be proficient with a pistol.

Sheriff Jerry Keller, I know bullets cost money, but how much does a lawsuit cost when your officers shoot an innocent bystander because they can't shoot? Shoot every month. Practice makes perfect.
