Nevada Medicaid Health Care Guidance Program welcomes new Executive Director, Behavioral Health Program Director and Medical Directors

The Nevada Medicaid Health Care Guidance Program (HCGP), a new integrated physical and behavioral care management program serving thousands of eligible Nevada Fee-for-Service Medicaid enrollees, is pleased to announce its leadership team: Cheri Glockner, Executive Director; Erin Snell, Behavioral Health Program Director; and Dr. Amy J. Khan and Dr. Ryan M. Ley, Medical Directors.

The Nevada Department of Health and Human Services Division of Health Care Financing and Policy administers this new and innovative program, with physical health coordinating services by McKesson Care Management and behavioral health coordination by ValueOptions.

Overseeing all activities of the Health Care Guidance Program, Cheri Glockner, Executive Director, joined at the end of July, and is responsible for meeting the program goals of improving the well-being of a designated Nevada Medicaid population. Most recently, Ms. Glockner served as Director of Development and Public Relations for Carson Tahoe Health. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Public Relations from the University of Nevada, Reno.

The overall administration lead for the behavioral health component of the Health Care Guidance Program is Erin Snell, Behavioral Health Program Director. Ms. Snell is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the states of Nevada and Texas and holds a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Texas at Arlington, and an Executive Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Texas Christian University.

Serving as the Medical Director for the Health Care Guidance Program, Dr. Amy J. Khan facilitates provider engagement activities and oversees clinical services delivered by care management staff. Dr. Khan, board-certified in Internal Medicine, was formerly Chief Medical Officer at Saint Mary’s Health Plans. She earned an M.D. from Wayne State University and a Master’s Degree in Public Health from The Johns Hopkins University.

Joining Dr. Khan is Dr. Ryan M. Ley, who serves the Health Care Guidance Program as a part-time Medical Director for behavioral health. Dr. Ley, board-certified in Psychiatry, also serves as Chief of Staff of West Hills Hospital in Reno. He is an assistant professor with the University of Nevada School of Medicine, where he earned his medical degree, and sees children and adolescents with Nueva Vista Family Services in San Diego. He has an MBA from Arizona State University and a Master’s of Science in Clinical Trials from Drexel College of Medicine. Drs. Khan and Ley hold medical licenses in Nevada and California.

The Health Care Guidance Program established an administrative office in Carson City.

Providers may validate the enrollment of patients and refer Nevada FFS Medicaid patients into the Nevada Medicaid Health Care Guidance Program by calling the program directly at 1-855-606-7875 and selecting prompt “2”. Providers may also download a referral form or, beginning in September 2014, validate patient enrollment by visiting the web site at www.nvguidance.vitalplatform.com/providerportal/nev.
