FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
U. S. Department of the Interior to Meet with Hawaiians in Las Vegas

In response to requests from the Native Hawaiian Community, Hawaii's Congressional
leaders, state leaders and activists, the U S Department of the Interior (DOI) announced
a first step to consider reestablishing a government-to-government relationship between
the United States and the Native Hawaiian community.

Known as an Advanced Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (ANPRM), the DOI provided
for an extensive series of Public Meetings and Consultations in “Hawaii and Indian
Country” (June 18 to August 7 2014) to solicit comments that could help determine
whether the Department develops a formal, administrative procedure for reestablishing
an official government-to-government relationship with the Native Hawaiian
community and if so, what that procedure should be, including what role the federal
government should take in organizing that government and drafting it's constitution.

The hearings outside of Hawaii were to be held in Indian Country: Minnesota, South
Dakota, Washington, Arizona and Connecticut. Ignoring states with high populations
of Hawaiians, California, Nevada and Utah. The Mainland Council of the Association
of Hawaiian Civic Clubs with 20 clubs spread throughout the Continental U. S. insisted
that hearings be held in states and cities that hold large populations Native Hawaiians,
Hawaii-born and those of Hawaiian interests as reported in the U. S. Census 2010.

The Las Vegas Hawaiian Civic Club in association with the Lawful Reinstated Hawaiian
Government is pleased to announce that the Department of Interior just made accommodations
to include Las Vegas, NV as a host site for testimonies.
