Online community for moms by mom for the Las Vegas Valley

Published on Sun, Jul 6, 2014 (9:59 p.m.)

Las Vegas, NV – Las Vegas has always been a place marketed for fun, relaxation, gambling, play, and of course sin; but past the bright lights of the strip, there is a tight knit community of diverse moms and caregivers.

We collectively have knowledge that can help every mom and caregiver, new or veteran, better navigate the road of life with kids, but alone (many of us far away from family and friends we’ve known a lifetime) we can feel lost.

Real Moms of Vegas (RMOV) was born out of a realization by its founder Billie Hillier, who commented “I am in several Facebook groups for moms and it seemed like the same questions were asked over and over and within the different groups. From seeing how many moms needed these questions answered, I decided to create RMOV as a hub for anything and everything to do with being a parent in the Las Vegas area.”

The Las Vegas mom bloggers diverse voices come together as a whole to build a network for moms and caregivers as a resource and a network. RMOV is the largest community for moms by moms in the Las Vegas Valley. With a strong foothold within the Valley, our Las Vegas mom bloggers are influential both independently and as a whole within the community and online.

Their stories are shared as inspiration, a way to pass on personal local knowledge, and a listening ear to other moms and caregivers here in Las Vegas. “We want to be the resource everyone goes to for answers; the advocate for parents who need help; and more.” stated Billie.

One initiative that RMOV is working with is to help with community awareness of Sensory Processing disorder. “This is our first of many causes that RMOV will actively support to help gather resources.” commented Billie.

“Being a mom can be overwhelming in and of itself, having a child with special needs, no matter what degree of needs they may have, can make parenting more difficult. Add to the mix that many parents and caregivers living in Las Vegas live far away from their usual support system, can make the basic tasks of being a mom even harder. RMOV is gearing up to be a place, a supportive place, for moms to find the resources they need to be the best parent possible.” stated contributor Stephanie Grossman.

RMOV is not only here to help you find resources for difficult parenting situations but to also help you make parenting easier. Recipes, money saving advice, cloth diapering, couponing, traveling with your kids; are just a few topics that you can find information about. Have an idea? Want to learn more about something, feel free to submit an idea, a cause, a resource, a question to any of our mom bloggers.

We want to know what makes YOU tick, what things interest you, what advice helped or hurt, it’s what keeps our community fresh and moving in a positive direction.
