The Sin City Theatre’s Compendium Pays Tribute to the Myth & Music of Legends

Published on Mon, May 12, 2014 (6:54 a.m.)

May 11, 2014 (LAS VEGAS, NV) - Compendium may not be a word that’s used too often, but The Sin City Theatre, inside Planet Hollywood on the strip, is betting on that to change. Compendium is a remarkable new show that pays tribute to legendary artists, featuring a dynamic live band performance and historical multimedia journey of archived film footage and rare photographs.

Show Producers John Paydon and Pete Housley, who also manages The Sin City Theatre, could have chosen Discography, which commonly describes a body of musical work, but felt there is ‘more to the story’ of these history making bands. Housley explains, “We wanted to develop a show about the music, coupled with the myth. A Compendium is a collection of things presented together, so it seemed an appropriate name for the show.”

The newest show on the strip will pay homage to many great music makers of our time. The first band to be honored with this assemblage of songs and memories is none other than the self-proclaimed hottest band in the world, KISS! Compendium’s premier residency is aptly titled Rock 'N Roll All Night: a tribute to the Myth and Music of Kiss, featuring Sin City Kiss.

“This is the must see show of the summer in Las Vegas!” declares Sin City Kiss founder Luis Reyes, aka Las Vegas Gene Simmons. Reyes continues, “A KISS tribute show has never reached this level performance and variety; mixed with the Vegas flavor and sharp venue experience. We have put together a fully historical tribute show, which involves 3 costume changes and a wide variety of KISS' music, spanning their 40 year career.”

Compendium at The Sin City Theatre opens Thursday, May 22nd with Rock 'N Roll All Night: a tribute to the Myth and Music of Kiss, featuring Sin City Kiss. Additional tributes and band residencies soon to be announced.

Performances are Thursday through Monday at 10pm. Tickets are General Admission $47.50; VIP $68.50, available at The Sin City Theatre Box Office, (702) 777-7776, located inside The Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino, on the Mezz and Ticketmaster: bit.ly/scctix
