Grand Opening: Peridot Sweets Crafts Custom Cakes And Treats For Las Vegas
Fresh Bakery Is Celebrating Its New Storefront With Complimentary Champagne, Desserts And Entertainment on August 19th
Las Vegas, NV (PRWEB) July 14, 2013

Peridot Sweets brings custom cakes, baking parties, and to-go pastries to the popular Rainbow Sunset Pavilion in Las Vegas. This friendly bakery is the creation of Tiffany Jones—accomplished pastry chef, cake designer, wife, and mom of one-year-old Jovi.

Just off the Rainbow exit on the 215 freeway (near the intersection of Rainbow and Sunset), Peridot Sweets makes it easy to grab something on your way to work: a fresh coffee and chocolate croissant, or iced tea and a gluten-free muffin. If time allows, have a seat and savor a maple bacon cupcake with maple-cream cheese frosting, topped with candied bacon. Yup. Candied bacon.

“Vegas is indulgent in so many ways—the gambling, the shows, the buffets—but sometimes all you need is a chocolate fix!” says Tiffany.

Inventive and fun, Peridot Sweets puts their own twist on familiar tastes and classic treats—their Peridot Gemmes (think gourmet Twix) and Krispy Krunchy Treats (Rice Krispies treats mixed with Crunch Berries cereal, then dipped in white chocolate) are customer favorites. Other delights include: chocolate-dipped fruit and pretzels, turtles, gluten-free macarons and cupcakes. There's something for every craving. "Our desserts don't discriminate," Tiffany says with a smile.

Everything is made from scratch. “Vegetable shortening” is a dirty phrase here. Even their vanilla extract is made in-house with real vanilla beans. Peridot Sweets maintains their commitment to fresh, high quality ingredients in their drinks, too—organic fair trade drip coffee, iced coffee, iced tea, and organic milk.

A warm, knowledgeable consulting staff is available to discuss special event needs. Whether it’s a cake for an elegant wedding, or hosting cupcake-decorating parties for creative childrens’ birthdays, there's no celebration Peridot Sweets can't handle. Looking at the custom desserts they’ve made, you see the artistry at work behind the counter. Walk in the door with a vague idea in your head and they will work with you, brainstorm, design, bake, and decorate it. A leopard-printed cake with a red Betsey Johnson stiletto made from fondant on top? They’ve done it. Hand them a photo, a page from a bridal magazine, and they’ll recreate it. If you prefer a clean, simple cake, that’s exactly what Peridot Sweets will give you. But nothing is run-of-the mill here, so don’t expect the flavors to be bland. Strawberry Shortcake and Spicy Aztec are big hits. And Tiffany’s' personal favorite is S'mores: chocolate cake, marshmallow meringue, homemade graham crumbs, and a toasted marshmallows exterior.

The menu will expand and change as the creative staff is inspired to satisfy customers’ cravings.
In addition, there will be whole cakes, ready for decoration—an added bonus for procrastinators and spontaneous party-planners. True to the goal of a one-stop experience, there will even be custom designed PS Greeting cards made by local stationers. “It’s a little ‘service’ to my customers on-the-go," Tiffany says.

Peridot Sweets makes presentation a priority—the bakery’s interior is bold and clean, predominantly white with yellow and green accents to suggest peridot (the August birthstone for Tiffany and the bakery). The fresh, modern style is paired with antique white cabinets that display the cake stands, sample cakes, chocolate boxes and birthday candles in a room bathed in natural light.

Tiffany and her husband Jason are veterans of the 5 star service industry, and their sincere dispositions are the perfect pairing of high caliber attentiveness and appreciation. Tiffany, a graduate of the California Culinary Academy’s Baking & Pastry program, has baked for Four Seasons Hotels (Las Vegas and California), and has worked under Meilleur Ouvrier de France (MOF) Pastry Chef, Stephane Treand. Prior to venturing off to fulfill her dream, Tiffany was the Assistant Pastry Chef of the Mirage Hotel & Casino. Peridot Sweets has grown from word-of-mouth... to online-based catering... to the brick-and mortar dessert destination it is now.

The Peridot Sweets Grand Opening will be held on Monday, August 19th from 6-8pm at 6475 S. Rainbow Blvd. #100. Complimentary desserts and champagne will be served. The party will extend out of the bakery into the parking lot. There will even be a DJ!

Rainbow Sunset Pavilion also features The Cracked Egg breakfast restaurant, Kobe Sushi, Lotus Garden, and Archi's Thai Bistro.
