Doubleheaders switched to CSN this weekend

The College of Southern Nevada baseball team will play host to a pair of doubleheaders this weekend instead of traveling to Utah.

The four games had been scheduled to be played at Salt Lake Community College, in West Jordan, Utah, but field conditions were poor after snowfall in Utah this week.

So SLCC will travel to Henderson to play the Coyotes at Morse Field in a doubleheader Friday (4 p.m. start) and Saturday (noon start). CSN will play doubleheaders at SLCC on May 1 and 2.

Western Nevada, at 19-9 and 13-3 in league, leads the six-team Scenic West Athletic Conference. CSN (20-12, 12-4) is in second place and SLCC (14-13, 8-8) is third.

Coyotes outfielder Trevor Kirk, a 6-foot freshman out of Silverado High, is second in the league with a .407 batting average.
